Love this artists work as well. Catherine Hammerton creates these beautiful textile, mixed media pieces that all remind me of birds in flight, or pooling fish. They seem inspired by Japanese culture or vintage wallpaper, but then her wall pieces can be so modern and slightly minimalist. The best way to view her work is to just go to her site!
I love artist Gordon Matta-Clark, and never posted him. He is an artist from the 70's and more who uses photography with such a beautiful and timless technique. If only we could all aim as high as he did. This link takes you to a neat video resource which illustrates his vision in motion.
Sorry no links, this is truely just for a presentation for an assigment I am doing now. I'll have some more artists really soon, just kinda got behind on postings.
Fred Wilson is an artist who's work shows the racist attitutes towards African Americans in history and still today. PBS has a great video on him.
Heap of Birds is an artist I came across years ago, and his art still has such an influence and impact on my own art and views of society. He tries to bring awareness to history that many try to suppress.
Nicola Carter, Patricia Niven, and Luise Vormittag are the three ladies who create the art and run a gallery in London for Container Plus. They are so creative and fun. I love the encorporation of great ideas, art, and photography.
Tord Boontje has always been one of my favorie artists. You have to go to this link to see his beautiful installation of winter wonderland. I am shopping for a new chandelier, I think this is perfect!!
